Benjamin Button - A New Forest Gump?

Heart throb Brad Pitt will star in upcoming movie, "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button".

The movie is due to release in theaters nationwide on December 25, 2008 and is expected to be a successful drama at the box office. The 2-hour-and-40-minute film is about an impossible fate: a man called Benjamin Button (played by Pitt) is born elderly and with each passing day, becomes younger, even until infantry. And, to compliment the dramatic elements of the movie, a love interest, Daisy (played by Cate Blanchett), evolves. The movie has even been compared to the well-known film, Forest Gump.

I am personally looking forward to the release of this movie. When I'd seen the trailer for the first time, I didn't quite understand what the whole thing was about and it didn't grab my interest. However, I've recently changed my views. This movie looks intriguing and with a plot out of the ordinary. Benjamin Button has even received the privilege of landing quite a few nominations for the 2009 Golden Globes.

Twilight - The Phenomenon

As many would agree, the movie Twilight has become a huge hit, especially among pre-teen and teen girls. The movie is based off of a series by author, Stephanie Meyer, and has become an outrageously popular movie. It was released in theaters nationwide on November 21, 2008 and took in $30 million the first day.

I have read the 1st three books in the Twilight series and have enjoyed them. I love the characters, action, realness of it all. And, I have to admit, the romance of it gets me. I can bluntly say that I am one of those foolish girls who had watched the teaser trailer months before the movie came out, and have seen every TV spot released on YouTube. I was sucked in to the chaos and turmoil of Twilight, watching interviews of Rob Pattinson (the vamp lead), reading countless articles in those teeny mags, and getting overly excited for opening night.

My friends and I got there an hour early and waited in the line full of screaming girls just to see this movie. In the end, I liked it, but it wasn't amazing. I actually had a hard time taking it seriously during the full two hours. Every five minutes, my friends and I (and the majority of the theater) would burst out in hysterical laughter. Overall, the movie had gotten mixed reviews from its fans.

Because the movie was such a huge success, (and let's face it, with all its fans, how could it not make a lot of money?) Summit has announced that a sequel, New Moon, will go into production.

And...Scene 1

As a 1st post, I feel that I should simply introduce this blog to you all. I love watching movies and I enjoy almost every genre: comedies, horrors, romances, action, etc. I have even watched foreign films from Korea, Japan, and Taiwan. I hope that the progress of this blog goes well and I plan to share my ideas and views on movies, arising stars, movie star legends, reviews from critics, indie films, ratings, and upcoming movies.

Something I'd specifically like to focus on is the comparison of indie movies/less known movies to the movies that murder the box offices and attract huge audiences. I'd also like to write on follow-ups of movies that have been around for ages, such as the James Bonds movies. They've been around for years and people still enjoy them. James Bonds films have been around since the 60s and still remain top hits. And the most recent one out this year:
